In Dhaka city, around 80 per cent car owners rely on their drivers for the overall car maintenance and oil change as they don’t have the ample time to manage this task.
So the overall car maintenance is on the personal car driver’s responsibility. That is why we conducted a survey on 50 passenger car drivers of Dhaka city to understand the view of using lubricating oil.
Our findings say, 28 per cent of car drivers don’t have the knowledge of using automotive oil.
76 per cent drivers rely on the mechanics for the oil change and they purchase their recommended oils.
About 34 per cent doesn’t have the knowledge of SAE grade of the automotive oils.
Around 78 per cent drivers purchase the engine oil personally from the retailer shop. They are more willing to negotiate to price while purchasing the oil from them.
Findings also reveal that 34 per cent drivers aren’t willing to change into the new branded products at a reasonable price.
64 per cent passenger car drivers are agreed to use reputed engine oils for their cars; as they don’t want to compromise with their engines.
So, it has found that the passenger car drivers mostly rely on the mechanic advice for repair and use the well-fitted regular oils for the oil change; however, they are not well aware of measuring the quality oil.
